Follow the steps below to swap one token for another on Ambidex:
Ensure you have a working Hedera wallet. We recommend Hashpack.
Fund your wallet with sufficient HBAR to perform a swap and pay for transaction fees.
On the Swap Page, click Connect Wallet in the top right-hand corner.
This will open a window which prompts you to connect your wallet via Hashconnect. Select one of the three options: Pair with Wallet, Pair with Code, or Pair with QR Code.
Approve the pairing in your Hashpack app.
In the Swap Page interface, select the token you wish to swap (From) and the token you wish to receive (To). Ambidex will only list verified tokens by default. If you do not see the token you wish to swap for, you can import it by entering its Token ID into the search bar, acknowledging the disclaimer, and clicking OK.
Once the desired token trading pair has been selected, enter the amount of tokens you wish to swap into the upper field. The estimated number of tokens you will receive will be automatically displayed in the lower field. You can also enter the number of tokens you wish to receive into the lower field, and the number of tokens you are required to swap will be automatically displayed in the upper field.
Check the Slippage. This is the difference between the expected price of the trade, and the actual price at which the trade is executed. Ensure that the Slippage is acceptable to you before executing any Swap. The lower the liquidity available, the more Slippage will occur.
If you wish to reduce Slippage, you can adjust your Slippage Tolerance. Slippage Tolerance is the amount of slippage (expressed as a percentage) you are willing to absorb on the given trade. This is set to 0.5% by default. Setting a lower Slippage Tolerance ensures that the price at confirmation closely matches the actual price the transaction is executed at, but increases the likelihood of the transaction failing if the pool has insufficient liquidity. Setting a higher Slippage Tolerance increases the likelihood of the transaction succeeding, but risks a higher discrepancy in the price quoted and price actually received.
Check the Minimum Received. This is the minimum amount of tokens you will receive from the swap. This number varies depending on the Slippage Tolerance you have selected.
Check the Trade Route. If no pool exists for the specific token pair you are swapping, Ambidex will automatically route your trade through existing liquidity pools, following a route that provides the best price on your trade.
Once you have checked and deemed the details of the trade acceptable, click Swap and approve the transaction in your Hashpack wallet. The gas fee (paid in HBAR) required will be displayed by your wallet. If you have yet to associate the token you are swapping for, you will be prompted to associate that token.
The trade should execute within seconds, and you should see the new token balance in your wallet. If the transaction fails, try increasing your Slippage Tolerance. If the failure persists, reach out to the Ambidex team in our Support Channel on Discord.
Your transaction will be viewable on Hashscan.
