Wallet
The HashPack wallet allows you to store and access assets on the Hedera network, as well as interact with dapps built on Hedera.
HashPack is a non-custodial wallet. This means you are fully in control of your account information, and assets stored in your wallet. Your data remains securely encrypted, and is never transmitted over the internet or stored on a server. Neither HashPack nor Ambidex will be able to recover your wallet (and any funds stored in it) if you lose your 24-Word Seed Phrase or private keys. Keep these safe and secure, and never share them with anyone.
You can download the HashPack browser-based wallet and get started with a free Hedera account by following these steps (for a more detailed guide with visual aids, refer to the official HashPack guide):
Access HashPack via either the Chrome Extension or browser-based wallet.
Create a Main Password. This password is securely encrypted on your device and is never transmitted over the internet.
Once you’ve entered a password with a minimum of 12 characters, click the checkbox to agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, then click Next.
Select Create New Wallet.
Securely note down your 24-Word Seed Phrase (also known as a mnemonic phrase, or recovery phrase). A Seed Phrase is a special type of password which allows you to recover your account. Once noted down, click Next.
Enter the missing words from your phrase, this is to verify that you have noted it down correctly. You can’t recover your account if you lose your 24-Word Seed Phrase. As long as you keep this phrase safe, your wallet will be secure.
Once you've verified all the missing words, click Next.
Enter a nickname for your HashPack wallet. This step is optional, but may help you keep track of what the account is for.
Press Create Wallet.
Save your account information, carefully note down your Account ID. You’ll use this to send, receive and pay with HBAR. You’ll also need your Account ID when importing or recovering your account.
Press Reveal Recovery Keys.
Securely note down your Private Key. Like your 24-Word Seed Phrase, this is a special type of password which allows you to recover your account. Always keep your Private Keys safe and secure, and don't share them with anyone.
Once you're ready, press Done.
Congratulations! You've created your first account with HashPack. Get started by depositing some funds, or purchasing HBAR with fiat currencies through the MoonPay integration – just press the Buy HBAR button. You'll need some Hbar in order to pay for transaction fees on Hedera.
